Operations Manager


Generally this position is filled by a technical, strategic and hands-on person with experience in IT, facilities, systems thinking, and sometimes people management and software development. At the manager/director level, the operations role usually has at least one support staff underneath them or a group of volunteers/work-traders who help with ongoing space operations. This position is filled by a technical and hands-on person with experience in IT and facilities maintenance. It’s acceptable for this person to double as the front desk associate. The core responsibilities of this person include:

  • IT Systems Maintenance (CRM, network reliability, software integrations, etc.)

  • Facilities Management

  • Policy/Procedure Development (often with help from Community Manager)

  • Managing Operations Staff

  • Security and Access Management Systems Maintenance

  • IT Systems Maintenance

  • Facilities Maintenance

  • Security and Access Management Systems Maintenance


A Community Manager fills many roles at CoLab. Not only serving as an event planner and host, the Community Manager is the voice of the members and the face of CoLab to the public. You will get the chance to build and encourage relationships in our diverse culture.

Experience and Requirements

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • Cold-outreach experience a plus;

  • Understanding and experience managing a team of employees and volunteers;

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills;

  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy;

  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial communities;

  • Passion and understanding for CoLab’s mission and values.

  • Customer service and/or sales experience is a plus;

  • Project management and business operations experience is a plus;
