What we'll do

Start your week off right with tech job search tips! We will be discussing job search tips in the competitive tech field. Looking at employment trends in Vancouver/Portland along with finding the best ways to network. Resume/Cover Letter tips from experts in the field. Depending on the crowd, bringing in specific employers to discuss job openings and tips.

Are you already in tech, but looking for a new opportunity? Have you been out of tech for a while, but looking at getting back into it? Is tech something you would like to get into, but are overwhelmed with everything that is available? This group will help guide you in the right direction while networking with people in the same situation as yourself. This is an open group where job searching and networking are one in the same. As most of us know, its not always what you know, but who you know. People are always asking me what is the best way to find a job in tech? The response is always the same. I tell them that they need to be out talking to people, networking. As a professional in the industry, I can often find out who is hiring, but that doesn't mean that I can get someone an interview. That often comes with knowing someone or having a killer resume that gets through the ATS systems. This group is going to help you navigate through the process while meeting people that "may know someone" in a company that you want to work for or transition into.

Summer Coaching Intensive: Session 1 - Toxic Stress & Relationships

Have you heard about trauma, toxic stress or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)? Learn how to use this information to improve your relationships!
For the first time, we're bringing our best professional workshops to the community!
The 2018 Summer Coaching Intensive Series will help you:

Learn more about how trauma and toxic stress affect the brain, the body, and our decision-making

Discover more about how to address the impacts of trauma on our relationships

Build skills and tools that actually work - and start using them NOW

(Sessions are every two weeks and are $40 per person)

Session 1 - July 26

Toxic Stress and Relationships

Session 2 - August 9

Mapping Your Stress Response & Saying What You Need

Session 3 - August 23

Healing Relationships: Coping, Self Care, & Boundaries

From a workshop attendee:
"Delena has an engaging and inclusive training style and is able to connect with people right away. She was able to use her past life experiences coupled with her extensive knowledge of how trauma affects our brain and behavior and relate it to real life in a way that was easy to digest. Once we knew the reasons for our current behavior she was then able to give some simple strategies to start rewiring our brain in order to change our behavior. The time spent with Delena was invaluable."

Why we're different:

Unique blend of proven brain science and intuitive expertise

Insightful analysis and personalized process

Empathetic and creative problem-solving

Skills that build new patterns and better outcomes

Way Enough Decision Coaching helps shape healthier thinking. We understand that early experiences shape perspectives, which in turn govern our decisions. We mix candor with intuitive expertise so that you hear what you need to, not just what you want to. We clear the air and make room for real solutions instead of band-aids. This human-centered, challenging approach helps people make the best decisions for themselves and the people around them. Whether you’re leading a company or just trying to fix your own life, we can teach you how to turn chaos into forward motion.

Vancouver Networking for Tech Job Seekers

Details

What to bring

(Optional) Business Cards, Resumes, Job Descriptions

Founders Caffeine Fix

Second Thursday of every month.

Each month The Bridge hosts an open coffee for local entrepreneurs in the area. It is simply a time to meet other great people doing things just like you. People that have a passion to build a business and create some things that will shape our future.

There is no direct agenda for the meetup. We do take a quick welcome moment to welcome our new guests and sponsors and promote any other events in the region we think would be of interest to our group.

Please come ready to meet others and share about your current project and find out about other people building exciting things in our area.

P.S. The event is open to everyone as a part of our community but, I will caution that sales reps and networking marketers tend to find their conversations short and unproductive. We ask you to respect the purpose is to meet and share, not to sell.

Price: Free
